The Help to Grow scheme offers training to SME’s (small and medium sized enterprises) in management and digital technology. The scheme has been developed by the government to help your business reach more customers and boost your profits.
Who can apply for Help to Grow?
To apply for Help to Grow, your business must either be registered in the UK with Companies House or be registered as a society listed on the Financial Conduct Authority’s Mutuals Register. Your business also needs to have actively traded over the last year and have traded for at least 12 months prior to the date of application. Here at Grosvenor House, we offer a virtual office service which includes a registered company address for you to use.
Other eligibility criteria includes:
- Working for a SME based in the UK
- Working for a company with between 5-249 employees
- For the management course you will need to be a member of the senior leadership team and have direct reports
- Must purchase the approved software if applying for Help to Grow: Digital
- Applicants must be over 18 years old and an employee of the business
- Applicants must be authorised to agree to the terms and conditions for the business

Help to Grow: Management Course
The Help to Grow Management Course is designed for senior management of SME’s such as CEO’s, CFO’s and Managing Directors. The course is designed to help boost your business’s performance and give you the tools you need to improve your business’s resilience.
What’s involved in the Management Course?
The Help to Grow: Management course is a 12-week program which consists of both online and face-to-face sessions. It also gives you the opportunity to network with your peers and other businesses. The course is delivered by industry experts and entrepreneurs and works around you, as there are over 50 locations open for training across the UK.
The course provides you with an experienced business mentor to help you tackle your business challenges and develop a bespoke growth action plan. The course tackles various modules which focus on your vision, mission statement and company values, employee engagement and business strategy.
As the course is 90% funded by the government it means the course costs just £750 per person.
Help to Grow: Digital
The Help to Grow: Digital scheme offers support in choosing digital software for your business such as CRM systems (Customer Relationship Management), accounting software or eCommerce platforms. The programme allows you to receive 50% off business software, up to £5,000.
The scheme also offers free and impartial advice and guidance regarding the software you choose and includes eLearning modules to get you up to speed. Also from late 2022, you’ll be able to use your Help to Grow: Digital discount for impartial, expert 1:1 business advice.
